More Convenient
Meet without commuting, waiting rooms or adding another destination to an already busy week.
FLEXIBILITY
Therapy doesn’t have to mean sitting in an unfamiliar office or adding another commute to your week.
Suddenly Normal Psychotherapy provides secure online psychotherapy to adults throughout California, allowing you to have meaningful, in-depth conversations from a private space that works for you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, stress, burnout or simply trying to understand yourself better, we can meet wherever you are.
Online therapy isn’t a watered-down version of therapy. You’re still having a real conversation with a therapist who is paying attention to what you say, what you avoid, the patterns that emerge and what may be happening beneath the surface.
The difference is simply where that conversation takes place. For many people, meeting from their own environment can make therapy easier to fit into everyday life – and sometimes easier to begin in the first place.
Good therapy depends on the quality of the conversation, not the room it happens in.
Meet without commuting, waiting rooms or adding another destination to an already busy week.
Have therapy from a private environment where you already feel comfortable and grounded.
Work, travel within California or a busy schedule don't necessarily have to interrupt the continuity of therapy.
Online sessions still create room for meaningful conversation, connection and deeper therapeutic work.
Online therapy can support people navigating a wide range of emotional, relational and life experiences.

You don’t need a perfect home office or a carefully prepared therapy space. You need a private place where you feel comfortable talking, a reliable internet connection and a device that allows us to see and hear each other clearly. At your scheduled time, you’ll join your secure video session and meet with Jeff much like you would in person. Some sessions may focus on what’s happening that week. Others may explore relationships, long-standing patterns, difficult experiences or questions you’ve been carrying for years. There isn’t a script you need to follow.
You don’t need to prepare something interesting to talk about. You just need somewhere to begin.
It might – at first. Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar whether you’re sitting in someone’s office or talking through a screen.
But once the conversation begins, the technology often becomes one of the least interesting parts of the experience.
You don’t need to perform differently because you’re online. You can pause. Think. Laugh. Get stuck. Change the subject. Not know what to say.
It’s still a conversation between two people.
Jeff takes an active, collaborative and relational approach to therapy.
That means he won’t simply sit back and wait for you to fill the hour.
Together, you’ll explore what’s happening in your life, notice patterns, ask questions and make connections between what you’re experiencing now and the things that may have shaped how you respond.
Depending on your needs, Jeff’s work may draw from psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, relational approaches and other evidence-informed methods.
The format may be virtual.
The work is still personal.
